An experienced team of Occupational Therapists work at Spire Murrayfield. They are particularly involved with the pre- and post-operative care of orthopaedic patients.
All patients requiring a hip replacement are seen approximately a week before their operation to discuss their needs so that a safe and efficient return home is managed. Equipment that might be required at home post-operatively is assessed by the Occupational Therapist and then provided through the patient’s Local Authority. If assistance is required for personal care then the Occupational Therapist will assess and refer to the appropriate Local Authority for a package of care or advice can be given on agencies that will provide private care.
